Dissolve Subgingival Calculus
Periogen® painlessly dissolves subgingival calculus through an in-home, daily irrigation regimen.
The Dissolution of oral tartar (calculus) below the gum-line is made possible by applying Periogen through one of two means. For tartar formations from the 1 mm all the way to 7mm, Periogen is applied with a Waterpik Ultra WP100 irrigator with a PikPocket Tip. For pockets 5mm to 12mm a periodontal syringe named the Deep Pocket Applicator should be employed.
Tartar below the gum line is made from different organisms than tartar above the gum line, but when fossilized, the are both made of calcium phosphate salt, which Periogen is designed to dissolve.
