Pentasodium Triphosphate

Pentasodium triphosphate (STPP) is a food salt used as a preservative for seafood, meats, poultry, and animal feeds. In foods, STPP is used as an emulsifier and to retain moisture. In Periogen STPP is used in concert with TKPP to prevent free calcium in saliva from bonding with tooth enamel and calcifying (hardening) into dental tartar.

Pentasodium triphosphate is used in Periogen rinse concentrate and toothpaste
